Cracking the Mystery of How Sloths Got Long Necks

Sloths are very odd on so many ways.  They are half blind and half deaf and move extremely slowly.  Another strange thing is the fact that they have 10 vertebrae in there neck.  It is strange because normal mammals including giraffe's have only 7 vertebrae in there neck.  They have so many because they have some extra vertebrae on the bottom of there neck that are found mostly on the rib cage part of most mammals spines.
